2-party system: No choice but evil

Disgruntled ex-Republican Alan Keyes presents a thorough treatment on the ‘lesser of two evils’ attitude of many voters, strongly arguing that voting for ‘evil’ is contrary to the concept of natural equality found in the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and the Bible.

Keyes doesn’t stop at merely touching on Barack Obama’s and John McCain’s moral unfitness for office, he cites Biblical passages as authority and presents a highly principled attack on the reasoning of those who typically succumb to the persuasions of two-party exclusive voting. Keyes even takes James Dobson to task for his recent announcement that he was ‘considering’ endorsing John McCain.

Keyes examines the abortion stances of Obama and McCain and finds them lacking, as well as their positions on homosexual marriage, national security and the role of government.

Keyes may not have gained the Constitution Party’s presidential nomination, but his lengthy treatment on the ‘evils’ of the two-party system demonstrates he’s still in the game.

From the article in World Net Daily:

But since human will is not just a matter of instinct, the human response to natural obligation does not operate with the consistency characteristic of less self-conscious animals. Once consciously understood, the natural inclination may be resisted and ultimately undone. This can mean greater freedom for the individual, but it also weakens the natural subjection of superior strength to the moral requirements of nature. Freed from the natural sense of obligation, the manifestations of human power may take the path of least resistance, the path that leads to the subjection of those whose weakness marks them for domination.

And,

It’s clear that as a matter of good, and most especially of Christian conscience, Dr. Dobson was right to reject McCain’s candidacy. On the fateful moral issues of our time, McCain is the archetype of political expediency. Christ emphatically rejected such expediency for principled moral decisions. (“What shall it profit a man …” etc.) Relative benefits cannot justify actions that violate the absolute standard of God’s will.

  1. John Lowell Says:

Keyes is right about Dobson, but where were his complaints when Dobson supported the Bush stem-cell compromise in 2001? It should have been clear to anyone that three-quarters of the Evangelical leadership was interested more in the cause of the Republican Party then than in the cause of Christ. And Keyes, allegedly a Catholic, himself missing in action on this hideous pre-emptive war. Two Pope have condemed it yet Keyes sees things differently. Sounds to me as though we’ve got two phonys here.

  2. Red Phillips Says:

“the concept of natural equality found in the Declaration of Independence”

Blah, blah, blah … Keyes seems utterly incapable of articulating an extended thought that is free of neocon/Straussian/Jaffaite gobbledygook. I’m with him on not voting for the lesser of two evils and voting third party, that’s why I’m here, but what does that have to do with equality and the DoI? And besides, the DoI didn’t mean what he says it means. His constant invoking of the DoI, regardless of whether it is warranted by the issue at hand, borders on fetishistic.

    “...and the Bible.”

And the Bible? Where is “natural equality” and voting in the Bible? Does anyone deal with more cognitive dissonance than the Straussian Christian?

  3. Trent Hill Says:

    “demostrates he’s still in it”

In what? He’s on one ballot so far…

  4. Jeremy Bauserman Says:

My first vote for President was for Alan Keyes in 1996. He makes some good points but since he was not his Party’s nominee this year why is he still in the race?

  5. Don Grundmann Says:

Response : As the Vice-Chairman of the California American Independent Party I can unfortunately say that Alan Keyes is the last person who should or can either complain regarding ” the lesser of 2 evils ” or conduct ” a highly principled attack ” as he is currently conducting a completely and utterly corrupt attack to destroy the Constitution Party via his guidance of his utterly corrupt co-workers in their attack upon the American Independent Party in California. Alan Keyes is at the helm of these complete corrupt-to-the-bone liars which makes him as bad and actually worse than they are. The attack upon the California AIP involves an unbelievable scenario of complete and utter corruption by the political rapists who are working to rape the Constitution Party via their attack upon the AIP. Keyes previously had a certain moral authority but no longer as he is now hiding his total corruption, in addition to his motivations of revenge against the CP and his real mission of being a Republican operative dispatched to destroy the CP, behind his old legacy. It is time to blow the whistle on this complete phony and fraud. Both he and his fellow political rapists will be stopped and thrown in the trash can of history where they richly belong.

  6. Katrinka Yobotz Says:

John Lowell posts, “where were his complaints when Dobson supported the Bush stem-cell compromise in 2001?”

Right on the forefront, as always.

“Although Dobson and Falwell are not all of our Protestant Christian ‘leaders’, they told us to vote for Bush. Now they tell us he chose well, even though Bill Clinton would not have been allowed to get away with a similar decision. Our country took another large step into an immoral abyss this evening. Where was the outcry? From some Catholic representatives who are right on this decision, thank you. From Alan Keyes.

  7. Maureen in MA Says:

AIP of CA sent 64 deligates to the constitution party’s convention and 51 of them voted for Alan Keyes. It sounds like the Constitution party is trying to hold them hostage. Don’t they have a right to affiliate with who they wish?

  8. Cody Quirk Says:

And the majority of the AIP State Committee voted to stay with the CP and have Baldwin as their candidate.

BTW, Jim King, the Chairman elect of the AIP, was supporting Keyes at the national convention, but didn’t try to destroy the Party like Ed Noonan did afterwords.

  9. D Kennedy Says:

It’s more sad then funny how Keyes twenty or so remaining supporters actually think that hypocrite will ever win any election ever. Even his articles are rude and filled with rhetoric.
Yobotz needs a new hobby other then googling Keyes and jumping on a dozen forums to shill that guy who has made a career of using donated money to mooch his life. He has never even had a real job. His “ambassadorship” job (tokenism) was not even a policy setting job - all he did was read speeches.
He will get his usual less than 0.3% of the vote, which will be far less than then next to the last place finisher.

  10. Red Phillips Says:

CA did not send 64 delegates to the Convention. They had 64 votes. Many of them were proxy votes. I don’t know how many delegates they actually had there. But all the proxy votes went to Keyes based on the decision of the State Chair. Don Grundmann probably knows the numbers.

  11. John Lowell Says:

    Katrinka Yobotz,

I’m aware of the fact that Keyes opposed the compromise, Katrina, and I suppose I ought to have made it more clear initially that my objection to him was more directed to the fact that he stayed in bed with these people after they sold-out. I mean if there were an event that defined the ReichsChurch, one that made its noxious presence clear on the public stage, it was support for the Bush stem-cell compromise. Together with the support these people later gave to the immoral adventure in Iraq, support given it by Keyes as well, it transformed the great bulk of the so-called “religious right” into an ideology driven quasi-Christianity redolent of the early Martin Niemoller. And its taken Keyes this long to disconnect from these Nazis? Why?

There’s no point in having a national convention if states decide to put their favorite candidate on the ballot regardless of who the national winner is.

  13. j. f Says:

VOTE FOR ALAN KEYES! WE NEED MORE CHRIST IN OUR GOVERNMENT AND LESS CONSTITUTION! BALDWIN IS AN EVIL IDOLATER WHO THINKS WASHINGTON AND JEFFERSON ARE HIS GODS! BOTH MEN REBELLED AGAINST THE CHRIST ON JULY 4, 1776 WHEN THEY SIGNED THE DAMNABLE DECLARATION OF DENIAL OF THE DEITY! JESUS IS LORD! NOT THE “CREATOR”. BALDWIN, OBAMA, BARR, MCCAIN, KINNEY, NADER BURN IN HELL!

  14. Roscoe Says:

Hey, j.f., show me Washington’s signature on the Declaration.

  15. james Says:

    LOL!
You got to hand it to these “pro-life” loons who advocate killing and assassinating in order to defend “the sanctity of life”. I’m sure Lord Keyes is pleading for the ebdorsement of “Rev.” Donald Spitz of the Army of God movement. Hey..I hear Osama is anti-abortion also. Chase him down for a nod, Alan!

  16. Red Phillips Says:

OK, I think j.f. is spoofing, but in case he is not I have news for him. Keyes loves the Declaration.

Donna, I support the right of a state to place a different candidate on the ballot from a state’s rights perspective. I supported Mississippi’s threat not to put Keyes on the ballot. The problem with the situation in California is that they are doing it in an underhanded way. The Keyes faction does not represent the will of the majority of AIP activists.

  17. Reed Heustis Says:

In a matter of fact, Jesus would not vote for any of the Presidential candidates. As for Keyes and Balwin, they both are of the scribes and chief priests that so angered Our Lord.

  18. Adam Says:

While I can’t vote for someone like Alan Keyes (I am, however voting for a third party canidate), he is right about the two party system, no choice but evil

  19. Carlsbad Says:

Didn’t Jesus (hence G-d) protest hypocrisy within the confines of the blend of religion and politics of his day?
If so, then G-d and Jesus Himself would condemn Keyes for his words and actions as the personification of evil.

Response : I should be more tactful but the most appropriate comment is - May God damn James and all other pro-death/abortion lovers for their beyond sick evil. It is those who support abortion who celebrate killing, assassinating, and mutilating children. Take all of the abortionists who have been killed - is the number even 10? I will give the benefit of the doubt to James the Rat and say that it is 10 times that amount or 100 total. Now how many children have been torn to shreds by abortion? 50 million + in just the United States alone. But for the benefit of James the Rat lets reduce that by a factor of 10 to a total of ” just ” 5 million. So James ( may you deservedly rot in hell ) - which number is bigger? 100 or 5 million? So I say God damn you for your love of and endorsement of evil and genocide. Pro-lifers have always worked to save people and children but you, James ( the God damned pro-death lover ) only advocate and love the mutilation of children. You will richly deserve your damnation.

  22. Joey G Says:

All of that are part of the “Independent Movement” Really need to come together and become one voice. I know here in Minnesota our party has elected a couple of people to office. I have believed for a long time that it is time for a strong Independence Party to come forth and bring reason to our government. Stop this in fighting that goes on in Washington and even in our home states. It is time to stop letting special interests run our government. It is time to bring our taxes back in line and be spent where they are actually needed rather than to a bridge that leads to nowhere. It is time folks to become one voice instead of many voices. As one voice we can and shall be heard. Yes, I believe that we can do this. I don’t want any one state or any one group to have a heavy hand of control like the other 2 parties. Each state would have an equal voice.
But that is a bit down the line.
The time has come, the time is now; Lead, Follow or get the hell out of the way!

Response : James - I notice you still can’t count. What is bigger - 100 or the 5 million that you, as ” a perverse homicidal maniac,” have endorsed killing? Your denial of the numbers and, especially, your endorsement of the genocide are what make you the rat that you are.

Hey for those of you ignorant folks there are more than 20 Keyes supporters, and for the record the third party canidates in Vermont, where I used to live wrecked the state, How? with socialized medicine, civil union voted in behing closed doors, (We already had powers of attorney so all Vermonters want to do was tweek it abit avoid the media and society upheaval mess and move on) Also 240 plus founding fathers were christians now may I point out that it was those christians who were tolerant first now you amamdons are not tolerant of us nor of your countries founding.,nor of your fellow party memebers. You do not have to agree, that is true but respecting the founding of your nation should be the norm. Do not like that then move , and pay France or Germany all your money for all the social programs and laws that infringe on peoples rights. Also the libertarian, progressive and other parties DO NOTHING period for the right to education in Vermont. It is extremely hard to homeschool there and that my ignorant friend is the truth. Sure disagree all you want that is America, or at least for now.

  28. Carlsbad Says:

Don, I am Jewish so I doubt your Savior (who practiced only Judaism) would “kick my butt”. It is SO hypocritical of you (and your ilk) to think that Jesus would advocate violence rather then love and comfort. If your version of the Messiah was acting accordingly, he would have preached to the people who disagreed with him and had only understanding. But of course, you perverted Him and his personality and views directly. If there is a Hell, you surely will dwell there forever with the other hateful sinners who pretend to by true Christians - but are EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE!
And Marc, can you spell “redneck”? At least you can get that right!

Response : Carlsbad - Evil will of course want you ( as a representative weakling of the human race ) to ” love and comfort ” It rather than truly oppose it. To oppose evil is not to advocate violence although that may be needed. I notice that you have no comment regarding the violence that shreds and mutilates via abortion 50 million + children in America alone. Jesus threw out the money changers. He did not ” love and comfort ” them. Sickened Christianity, including fake Christians, advocate kissing the posterior of the enemies of humanity as if this was a Christian virtue. It is only their own human weakness and/or cowardice that is on display. ” Understanding ” does not stop evil. If evil will not stop its actions on its own then a outside force, inclusive of violence, must stop It. Wimps show ” love and comfort ” to evil and killers. Real people, real Christians, stop their evil by kicking their butts. Have fun brownnosing evil. The rest of us, the REAL people, will do the butt kicking that you are too wimpy, cowardly, and sick to do.

Response : D. Kennedy - I meant to write to you that I may have misinterpreted your previous comment to indicate that you support the child mutilation/shredding/slaughter of children known as abortion. If you don’t support this genocide then my apology to you for inferring such. If you do support the genocide then you will be going to hell. Of course relevant to your most recent comment I expect you to clearly indicate how I, or anyone else, ” spew hate ” when I am simply standing in defense of the countless children who are killed by the lovers and purveyors of abortion. A common-as-sand tactic of those who love death ( those who support abortion ) is to claim that those who stand in defense of children ” spew hate,” are ” hateful,” “bigoted,” yada, yada, yada, as they refuse to discuss their own support of genocide; i.e.; hatred of the unborn. If you, or anyone else, support abortion you will go to hell for eternity. It’s very simple. When you tell God to go to hell by shredding his creation you will have eternity to ” enjoy ” your contempt and hatred of our ( yours and mine ) Creator. You can spout on all you want about ” spewing hate ” but unless you change by admitting your sin and repenting you will go to hell for your crime against God and humanity. Very simple. Your choice. Your responsibility. Your accountability. No one else. ” Trolls ” come out from under their bridge and kill ( eat ) passersby. Just like abortionists and their supporters ( their fellow lovers of death ).

  32. D Kennedy Says:

Don, I am Jewish and Jews believe that the mother is in full control of deciding the fate of the embryo and fetus until it is born alive. I doubt that all Jews will be going to hell (if it exists). And your Jewish born messiah even (was claimed to say hundreds of years later) that he did not come to earth to change the law.
You are free to think the way you do - but keep your stinkin’ hands away from other female’s bodies. Read the following quite closely: Just because you believe in your heart and mind that you are correct - does NOT make you correct in the hearts and minds of others.
Speak what you want, but I am sure glad that you are not in a position of power or policymaking.

  33. Don Grundmann Says:

” You are free to think the way you do - but keep your stinkin’ hands away from other female’s bodies.”

Response : 50 million + children mutilated/shredded via abortion = 25 million + women slaughtered. This does not even count the emotional destruction of countless women by being lied to by the abortion industry that the killing of their child was no different than brushing their teeth. Of course such things are beyond trivial to you and they can thank you for coming to their defense. I don’t touch female bodies to stop abortion. I do 1) appeal to their conscience which pro-death/abortion mutants want to destroy along with the unborn child; 2) work to stop the ghouls/fiends who love the shredding of children via abortion; and 3) expose the truth of the slaughter and the evil of those who support/love it. So of course you don’t want me anywhere near a position of power or policymaking because I could then more effectively combat the genocide which you are quite happy with. The child shredding of abortion is, in addition to everything else, a act of telling God to stick-it-where-the-sun-doesn’t-shine because I( the singular abortion lover like you )/we ( the collective abortion lovers )think your creation is crap just like we think you the Creator are crap. Abortion is man telling God to go to hell and abortion supporters, like you, are telling God the same thing. But have fun laughing at the Creator. You will have eternity to laugh out loud. I don’t know a lot about the Jewish religion but I presume that you are not Orthodox as I believe the Reformed and another even more liberal division of Judaism which name I have forgotten are the groups within it that have no problem with child mutilation. They are similar to Unitarians in both action and a God-can-go-to-hell philosophy - you can chop up the child right in front of them and they will have no complaint. You have plenty of company with Methodists and Episcopalians too.

Response : As a typical pro-death creature you make the smear but present nothing to back it up. My premise is the defense of human life which begins at conception; a scientific reality that, like gravity and 2+2=4 cannot be refuted ( but will be by pro-death nitwits ). My Savior gave His life for the reconciliation of humanity with God. Of course those who support His opponent will, as all pro-death/abortion creatures do, stand against human life. They, as God haters, love the shredding of children since they represent the future and are a gift from God. I notice that you have not a second of complaint against 25 million+ women being shredded and mutilated. I stand in defense of human life against those ( like you ) who believe in and celebrate genocide. I stand in defense of women against those ( like you ) who watch ( and cheer ) from the bleachers of life as 25 million + of them are slaughtered/shredded/mutilated. Of course death creatures always claim that those who defend life have ” a very sick mind.” They see their love of death as a virtue and claim to be ” defenders of women ” even as they lead them to the slaughter of abortion. It is you, via your belief in death, who are twisted. Hell will take care of the tortured part.
