Will Bob Barr put Georgia and North Carolina in play for Obama?

Recent polls have shown Barr’s support at 8% in Georgia and 6% in North Carolina. Taken together, those two states have more electoral votes than Florida, or Ohio, or Pennsylvania.

AllahPundit on hotair.com thinks a third party or independent candidacy has to get support in the range of 20% to 25% in order for one of the major parties to fear you enough to try and accommodate your demands.

A five percent minority doesn’t do that…. If you’re going to strike at the establishment, in other words, you’d better do it hard enough that the reaction is fear, not anger. How do you think libertarians will be received if this tool hands us President Obama?

Well, if these were Democrats and Nader you were talking abt, the Democrats would attack with legions of lawyers to try and keep him off the ballot. I wonder what the GOP will do?

Maybe the GOP of the future will think twice before abandoning the principles of small government and the true conservatism of Barry Goldwater before cow-towing to a bunch of big-government warhawks who left the Democratic Party back in the 60’s to form the neo-Conservative movement [Irving Kristol ( father of TV pundit William Kristol) and Francis Fukuyama].

Quote from Irving Kristol, who was a member of the 4th Comminterm [Communist International] and dedicated Trotskyist while at CCNY: ” Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a neo-something: a neo-Marxist, a neo-Trotskyist, a neo-liberal, a neo-conservative; in religion a neo-orthodox even while I was a neo-Trotskyist and a neo-Marxist. I’m going to end up a neo- that’s all, neo dash nothing.”

When he left the Democratic Party he went to the Republican party to found the neo-Conservative movement, declaring that he was “going to take the Republican party in a new direction whether it wants to go there or not !!”

Adolph Hitler did not seize power in Germany … it was handed to him by an electorate. Republicans handed the Republican Party over to a bunch of zealots. If the party ends up destroyed because of this perversion of American principles, then it is a fate duly earned by the very supporters who have called themselves Republicans for the last several decades ! They have arrived at their “new destination” —- I hope they’re proud of themselves

I think 10% is more than enough for even Republican leaders to get the message.

Hopefully DDT they’ll all end up NEO-FUCKED!

If McCain loses in those states, or in any other, it’s because his platform sucks, not because a 3rd party candidate is running for president. Who wants 100 years of Iraqi occupation? Who wants amnesty for illegal immigrants? It’s no wonder Barr is polling so well this early on.
