Whip it out, Yank at www.turdpottywatch.com

  2. Stefan Says:

If he wanted to catch attention with young people in this way, it would have been much better if he sought his own Gravel girl and do a production with that team.
Paul is much more a person according to his age and “status” and has inspired the young voters with his ideas, not his “dancing skills”.

  3. Bill Woolsey Says:

    I thought it was great!

I wouldn’t support him… but it was very cute.

    And good for the LP.

  4. Crimpo Says:

Hey the guy had some fun and the video was quite funny. Sometimes politics can be AWFULLY po-faced.

Gravel has made a contribution in his political career. The last year must have seemed like banging his head against a brick wall but he’s stuck at it. So cut the bloke some slack and let him enjoy himself a bit…

  5. Eric Dondero Says:

Yup, I suspected Gravel was a Social Con. Did you all catch that clip of him closing the coat of Obama Girl so as to not show off her sexy body?

That’s it! Gravel is now off my List.

Seriously, that one mention of the Libertarian Party was probably worth millions of dollars of advtersing for the LP. Can you imagine how this is going to help on the college campuses for petitioning and outreach for the LP?

After 36 years the Libertarian Party is now finally starting to break through. And ironically, thanks to three guys who weren’t even official LP members 2 years ago - Gravel, Barr and Root.

  6. Eric Dondero Says:

Stefan, stop being a sourpuss. Mike Gravel has just done 10 times more for the Libertarian Party and the entire libertarian movement with that single video clip on CNN and YouTube, than Ron Paul did in 10 months of campaigning with his Presidential effort.

That was a slam dunk for Gravel.

And only boring-ass “pure as snow” policy wankers like you would see it as hurting the libertarian movement.

Lighten up Dude. Or should I call you “Dud”?

  7. susan santarini Says:

Eric Dumbdildo is a fraud and a PUSSY. He never served in the Navy and cannot produce any proof of service, except for an easily forged piece of paper.

Where are the medals? The awards? ANYTHING to prove he really served. Gosh, I’d be happy, and shut up, if he can produce just ONE picture of himself in uniform.

Dumbdildo can run, but he can’t hide from the the TRUTH!

Until WE see an actual PICTURE of him in uniform, Eric Dumbdildo’s military record will remain a toaster in Robert Milnes kitchen.

  8. Jonathan Cymberknopf Says:

great you tube video, that’s what you need when you are a third party candidate to get attention and votes in this day and age.
Looking forward to a BARR/GRAVEL ticket which would garner more votes for the Libertarians than any other election cycle before it.

  9. severin Says:

I don’t really agree with him on some of his politics, but he does make fun youtube videos.

  10. Stefan Says:

    Eric:
you miss my whole point, once again.
BTW: Gravel could also want to close her coat so as to hide the pic of Obama, your secret hero.
You probably have not seen the various videos of Ron Paul girl, who I think looks better than Obama girl and certainly smarter.

(Susan Santarini could be the absolute “smasher”, but she is smart and it would be beneath her, I think)
Susan: Eric claims to have served in the Navy and brag about the prostitutes he had in SE Asia, so you can imagine just how “hard he worked”. He was never involved in any combat. He is what Jesse Ventura would call a “chickenhawk”.

And Giuliani girl was a disaster, to not even mention the “McCain girls”, that you loved so much. LOL

    Have you seen this one?

  11. Ross Says:

I think the best part of this video is that it got over 250,000 views, and dozens of honors, and was featured by Youtube!

  12. Ross Says:

Actually, that’s the other Obama Girl/Gravel video. This one, the LESS popular one, still got over 25,000 videos and got featured on CNN!

  13. Ross Says:

There’s a mass donation day for Gravel, by the way, on May 13th. It’s his birthday!

  14. Trollin Inshit Says:

Help Gravel to the toilet at www.turdpottywatch.com.

  15. Liberated Woman Says:

Can we keep the three media guys all the way to November? I’m feeling optomistic …

Gravel - a great YouTube video, gravitas, great anti-war history
Barr - debate at Oxford, brought suit against Clinton for undeclared war
Root - loves the spotlight and talks about freedom with excitement

Is this the year the snowball effect will begin?

  16. Michael Seebeck Says:

You gotta admit, he’s having fun with this, and that is refreshing, even if he sings like William Hung’s grandfather. :)

  17. susan santarini Says:

    Oh Eriiiiiiiiiick!

    Dumbdiiiiiiiiiildooooooo!

    Where are you hiiiiiiiiiiding?

Where is your picture to prove you were ever in the Navy????

    We’re waiting…

  18. Eric Dondero Says:

Correction Stefan, I was not involved in “much combat.” I did serve in a War Zone Iraq/Iran war for 9 months, and two times we went to General Quarters when it was not a drill. Both times Saddam’s gunmen had locked on our ship as a target for a missile attack, as we were escorting burned out oil tankers out of the upper Persian Gulf.

In fact, we even made it into Time Magazine, “Fight to the Finish” The tanker war hits a lull, but Iraq fears a new land offensive…

Photo of my ship USS Luce DDG-38 Guided Missile Destroyer with the sub-head: With a tanker in the background, the U.S.S. Luc lies at anchor off Bahrain.

    Time, June 11, 1984

The USS Starke that was attacked by Iraq a year later was our sister ship out of Mayport, FL. 37 of my shipmates aboard the Starke were killed in that attack.

  19. Eric Dondero Says:

I might be seeing Tom Knapp sometime next week. If you all like I can bring him the copy of my Ship’s Yearbook for the Cruise with the article, also my DD-214, medals, and Honorable Discharge. Plus some photos of me in uniform.

Do you all trust Tom Knapp’s word?

  20. Stefan Says:

    Susan:

Eric is usually hiding and keeping quiet when he realizes he is losing arguments and fail to come up with the facts.
He seems to be busy posting articles about his new secret “hero”
    http://www.libertarianrepublican.blogspot.com

It is interesting he did not react on what you wrote about Root’s stance towards him…

He claims to” have served 4 years in the Navy, have three medals (one wonders for what?) and an honorable discharge to show for it”.
    http://4and20blackbirds.wordpress.com/2006/12/04/creep-eric-dondero

    Remember this?
    http://westanddivided.blogspot.com/2007/05/dwsuwf-reader-eric-dondero-running.html
“I am the guy that got Ron Paul elected to Congress in 1996. I can and will defeat him in 2008”.
We are still waiting for that?
Perhaps he is still crying that Walter B Jones, anti-war GOP congressman in NC, who he predicted would lose his his seat, won with ca. 60%....

  21. Stefan Says:

Aha there you are: well, Eric, I do not care so much about your history and what I do not know about you (I would believe..), I care more about your lack of understanding certain basic political terms and confusing of them and misstatements, like “Islamofascism”, which is - as Tom Knapp indicated on his blog, very much a nonsensical term.

  22. susan santarini Says:

Dumbdildo, spare us the fictional accounts of your life, stop stalling and show us some photos TODAY.

Put the pictures up, NOW, at your website, were we can ALL look at them. I have a friend who is a photoshop expert, so don’t try any funny business.

No more excuses and no more lame ass offers like “I might be seeing Tom Knapp sometime next week.”

Seriously Erika, that’s an excuse one of my girlfriends would use, not someone who claims to be a tough guy and a vet.

Show us the photos of you in uniform and do it NOW!

  23. Lidia Seebeck Says:

He does do good videos. BTW he was closing Obama girl’s coat because she was wearing her Obama T-shirt and he’s trying to make the case that she should be Gravel Girl. Purely symbolic, remember he distrusts Obama.

Yes, RP, Gravel, etc on their YouTubes are finally making the LP a known name. We are no longer off in the far distance. We need to remember this in Denver.

Whomever our candidate is, we need to get some good viral vids out there. That seems to be the way this electoral season and it’s rumored that Obama’s vids are making a difference for him over Clinton.

They don’t have to contain any actual content. Matter of fact, at least the first ones shouldn’t. All they need to do is brand our candidate. Notice you heard “Gravel” about a 100 times in the vid. That’s on purpose of course. The idea is to connect “fun” and maybe the soulja dance with “Gravel”. The idea is to keep the word “Gravel” in a potential voter’s/delegate’s mind. That’s all we have to do initially.

For instance, if Ruwart wins (and she’s got great camera appeal if we can get a mild makeover for this) we could just allude to her stuff by say, having her dance in a lab coat, or tossing around (fake) gold. Or something. A lot of the vids have involved sex appeal, sorry to put it so bluntly but it’s true. If we have a male candidate, we need to have a “() girl”—someone with some serious camera appeal and we do have some of that in the Party (not me, unfortunately). If Mary or Christine win, then a vid with a ton of males swooning over her could work (ooooh, starchild, my friend, care to swoon over Mary for a vid?)

Once we have a vid, the next thing is to make it go viral. The Gravel team knows how to do this. The basic idea is to comment bomb the sucker on YT until it gets honors at which time it takes off. Also I think posting it as replies helps too although I’m not sure how that works. I believe we also have to start getting other people to make other vids supporting the oriiginal vid, which is definitely an RP trick that Gravel also uses. Most of the RP vids were by supporters.

We can’t get stuck in the “speaking from a podium” thing. Quick, sweet, glitz, and simple. Then later we can start introducing stances into vids and these don’t have to be as complex although they can be (see “high tide”)

  24. paulie Says:

    Susan,

I trust Tom Knapp’s word on this. Not that you have to; Eric’s offered to fax it to you as well.

As far as a DD 214 being easily forged, perhaps, but you can contact the Navy for verification saying you are doing background verification for a potential employee. Of all the things to rip on Eric about, this has to be one of the dumbest.

  25. paulie Says:

Looking forward to a BARR/GRAVEL ticket which would garner more votes for the Libertarians than any other election cycle before it.

Gravel has already ruled out the VP slot. And he ain’t getting the top spot.

  26. paulie Says:

Purely symbolic, remember he distrusts Obama.

    And so do I.

Obama claims he is antiwar, but every time he got to vote on it, he either voted for it or did not vote.

He’s talked about going to war with Pakistan, a nuclear power, and refused to rule out the nuclear option with Iran.

Any antiwar people giving Obama credibility for an antiwar stance, including Justin Raimondo, are making a mistake.

So is Ron Paul in decreeing that Obama is better than Clinton and McCain on the war. If you only pay attention to their rhetoric, sure.

But as Ron Paul should certainly know from his years as a Congressman, their rhetoric is worthless. Obama’s actions leave no reason to trust him on war and peace or anything else.

Great post - the LP needs more of this type of thinking.

  28. Lidia Seebeck Says:

BTW, based purely on what I perceive as camera appeal Ruwart, Root, Gravel, Smith, Jingozian (maybe) could really work.

I’m having a really hard time seeing Barr or Phillies making this work, although George you do have something of a sense of humor so maybe you can think of something?

Then again RP isn’t exactly photogenic so who knows.

  29. Catholic Trotskyist Says:

Obama should pick Gravel for his running mate. Then this girl would not have trouble deciding between these two great candidates. Unfortunately, the Bush/Nader/Rodham/McCain conspiracy would probably not let this happen.

Issues and principles don’t really matter. Obama is the best candidate because he is just slightly more antiwar than Hillary and McCain, and because God said so.

AND GOD SAID, “GLORY UNTO RON PAUL, FOR HE IS HEADING TOWARDS THE OBAMA REVOLUTION. GLORY UNTO OBAMA GIRL, FOR SHE MOVED THE TROGLEDYTE MASSES TO NOTICE THE GREAT REVOLUTIONARY GENERAL BARACK OBAMA. GLORY UNTO BOB BARR AND CHUCK BALDWIN, FOR THEY WILL STEAL REPUBLICAN VOTES TO PUT OBAMA IN THE WHITE HOUSE.”

O LORD, YOU SANCTIFY ALL THE NATIONS, AMEN.

  30. Catholic Trotskyist Says:

By the way, I am planning to soon start work on my “Fringe Alliance” video for Youtube. I am will let you know when it is finished.

  31. Lidia Seebeck Says:

Been doing a LOT more thinking.

Another aspect of making things go viral is reposting the vid to other sites. Fubar comes to mind, as does the VJ feature on Gaia I think MySpace has a similar idea, and any other site that allows linking or uploads of vids. Gaia has over 10 million users, many teens but also lots in their 20’s. Fubar, while much smaller, is all voting age users. Obviously all of these need to be rated, it could get relatively complicated and there would almost have to be a group site to keep track of what is where.

Also on a semi-related note it’s not that difficult to make profiles for a candidate on these sites. Gaia has a “President Ron Paul” for example and the avvie wears clothes similar to what RP might wear. I can do this for any Libertarian candidate and since I’m very rich on-site I can dress the avvie in anything that seems appropriate. We can do the same for Fubar. A user on Bebo MySpace Facebook, Xanga, etc can probably do something similar.

    Anyhow, more thinking

    If Gravel wins—
We find a Gravel Girl within the party. She does not have to be able to sing—we have some good songsters in the Party and I can probably convince one of them. Gravel Girl would just lip-sync. We somehow convince Amber Lee Ettinger to come back for the sequel and then either she rejects Gravel, opting for Gravel, and Gravel Girl comes on scene or else Gravel Girl and Amber duke it out the way that she did, for example, with Guiliani Girl. Then future vids would be all Gravel Girl,

    If Ruwart or Smith win:

We could do a serial video set with Ruwart/Smith Guy. It starts out with Guy doing one pretty much solo, gushing over pics/ tape of Christine/Mary. Then perhaps a series of vids with him travelling to Texas/Colorado with him doing mild plank explanations to people he meets along the way. Finally one where he meets Ruwart/Smith.

    Just an idea.

Not sure what to do with Root. although something involving a big slot win seems obvious. Barr, Phillies, etc I have no ideas yet.

  32. Jerry Baner Says:

If Gravel doesn’t win, whomever is the L nod needs to hire his video team, I think, Lidia.

They’re bound to have the expertise here.

  33. Lidia Seebeck Says:

I agree, although several of these were outside invites.

The Gravel people definitely know a lot more about uplinking, viralizing, and all of that. It’s the sort of major-party stuff that we need to know.

  34. Ross Says:

Gravel is really well-connected in Washington, too. That’s another advantage of having him run.

He’s friends with a lot of Senators and Congresspeople, Noam Chomsky, Ralph Nader, you name it.

  35. Stefan Says:

    Susan,
still nothing from Eric on his site. He seems to have chickened out…

  36. Ross Says:

What I meant about that last comment was that even if Gravel isn’t elected, he can be more successful at spreading the word about the LP and making an impact on the presidential race, because there are a lot of people in Washington who know him from his days as a Senator.

  37. Eric Dondero Says:

Stefan, you wanna talk “non-sensical” terms. How about “Anti-War Libertarian.” What an absurdity. How someone can claim to support civil liberties, yet align themselves with the very people on the planet who want to destroy civil liberties, is insane.

Radical Muslims want to outlaw free speech, ban pornography, kill prostitutes, cut off the penises of all Gays, jail marijuana smokers for life, cloak all women in ugly black burqas, and completely outlaw alcohol.

How is that consistent with libertarian ideals of social tolerance, sexual liberation, and openess?

  38. susan santarini Says:

    Oh Erika?

    Erika Dumbdildo!

You said you had photos of you in a uniform. Where are they?

You don’t have them do you?

Shame on you Erika Dumbdildo, you were never in the Navy, WERE YOU?

YOU ARE A FAKE, ERIKA, PRETENDING TO BE A SAILOR BOY.

The men all bought your bullshit, but I saw right through it!

Now I have PROVED that Erika Dumbdildo is a fraud!

You were NEVER in the NAVY or any other military service, because no one will have you.

BTW, you never responded to my charge that Rood won’t talk to you or have anything to do with your sorry ass.

  39. susan santarini Says:

    “Susan,
still nothing from Eric on his site. He seems to have chickened out…”

Yeah, Erika Dumbdildo even fooled Tom Knapp and Pauli Canoli into believing his bullshit. Like Men have a “squid” detector. Give me a break!

Just remember it was a woman who exposed Dumbdildo and his bogus history as a sailor boy.

  40. Hugh Jass Says:

“How someone can claim to support civil liberties, yet align themselves with the very people on the planet who want to destroy civil liberties, is insane.”

    ROTFLMAO! LOL!

  41. Gluefoot Says:

Here are some McCain vs Hillary/Obama posters like Alien vs Predator. Whoever wins..we lose. Spread them around if you wish.

  42. Brian Miller Says:

So is Ron Paul in decreeing that Obama is better than Clinton and McCain on the war.

It is curious that, when push comes to shove, it would appear that Ron Paul wants to endorse an old-party politician over a Libertarian Party politician, isn’t it?

  43. Brian Miller Says:

Radical Muslims want to outlaw free speech, ban pornography, kill prostitutes, cut off the penises of all Gays, jail marijuana smokers for life, cloak all women in ugly black burqas, and completely outlaw alcohol.

Let’s not forget that they’re likely to succeed, too.

Why, they’ve already got the Republican Party supporting all of the above positions with the sole exception of the burquas. Give the GOP another 8 years and perhaps the “Raidcul Islamuzlahmicfashist takeover” of Eric’s party will be complete?
