Latest Root endorsement

From the Root for America campaign:

“In February 2008, LP California Convention delegates picked Wayne Allyn Root over a native son candidate in a straw poll after hearing Root and other Presidential candidates speak. Root had already won my support in July 2007, when he stated his determination to keep America tough, strong, vigilant and unapologetic about defending our ideals and freedoms. God’s blessing on America will last as long as we defend liberty. And we will best defend liberty now by electing Root as America’s next President. Let us be Americans for Root! Root for America!
—Art Tuma
Libertarian Congressional Candidate (CA-3)
Chairman, Libertarian Party of Sacramento

Excellent timing, Wayne. This will surely unite TPW and the party.

  2. Jerry Baner Says:

Who the fuck cares? Jesus, Root is not only a sleazebag, but an idiot too.

  3. Michael Seebeck Says:

    Yawn.

  4. Catholic Trotskyist Says:

I believe that this person Art Tuma is actually a political candidate. If it is the same person as D.A. Tuma, who ran in the California Third Congressional District elections in either 2004 or 2006. As I recall, he did pretty well for a libertarian.

By the way, many of you are probably not happy that I have returned. However, I will focus on making on-topic comments for the next couple days, before going back to my usual commentary on Obama and the Fringe Alliance strategy.

AT LEAST HE’S NOT DEFENDING NAMBLA AS YOU SHITBAG RUWARCHISTS HAVE DONE. YOU TPW PEDO’S ARE GONNA GET YOURS IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, JUST LIKE YOU LIKE IT, RIGHT UP YOUR ASSES, GREASELESS!

This endorsement is worthy of having posted on W.A.R.’s website, and then here on TPW? Heck, I’m chair of the LP of Hillisborough County, which includes Tampa, Florida, and I’m endorsing Mary Ruwart. What’s next, Joe Blow, 18, who just registered Libertarian in Fresno says he endorses W.A.R. too? EXTRA! EXTRA! JOE-OUR NEWEST REGISTERED VOTER ENDORSES W.A.R.

    Give me a break W.A.R.!

  7. Thomas M. Sipos Says:

I had a conversation with Art Tuma at the 2007 California LP state convention, and a briefer conversation with him at the 2008 convention.

Tuma was polite, albeit dismissive of my antiwar views. And I do mean “dismissive.” He chuckled and treated my views as not worthy of serious discussion.

I was polite too. I don’t think I was dismissive in my tone (as was he), but I admit, I wasn’t taking his views seriously either.

In 2007, I was passing out Karen Kwiatkowski for President flyers at the state convention. Tuma sat next to me, saw my flyers, smiled, and said, “Oh, you poor boy! You poor boy!”

Tuma had his own pages of documentation, list of books and articles, which he said I should read. Material about the threat of “Islamo-fascism” and “clash of civilizations.”

No surprise that Tuma supports Root. I’d expect nothing else.

  8. Eric Dondero Says:

Sipos, anyone would be dismissive of someone passing out literature for a crackpot Lyndon Larouchie like Kwiatkowski. It’s a wonder they didn’t kick you out.

The Libertarian Party has enough problems with the unfortunate coincidence of sharing ‘L’ as the first letter in the name, with the Larouchies. We don’t need any more bonafide links to those nutballs, like Kwiatkowski around.

Just one more bit of evidence in a line of now tremendous amount of it, that W.A.R. is publicly(to Libertarians) trying to sound non-interventionist, while silently being in favor of the “war on terror” and “Islamo-Fascists”.

  10. Thomas M. Sipos Says:

Dondero, truth means nothing to you. Thomas Knapp has already explained to you that Kwiatkowski is NO Larouchite. As have others.

Yet you ignore all proofs and explanations, and just go on spreading your lies.

Steve, you’re right. Root claims he’s converted from pro-war to anti-intervention. Yet the pro-war liberventionists (Dondero included) continue to promote Root.

If pro-war libs don’t believe that Root has “converted,” I don’t see why antiwar libs should believe Root either.

  11. Steve LaBianca Says:

    Thomas,

The anti Ruwart, anti non-interventionists, and the anti-”Real” Libertarians have only one type of ammo in their arsenal. That is, ammo blanks which make a lot of noise, fired over and over and over ad infinitum.

There is no substance, just repetition, in the hopes that repetition makes it believable. I call on all Libertarian delegates to take a step back and get a look at the big picture.

And here is the big picture:
W.A.R. wants LP delegates to concentrate on “specific” issue releases in the left hand which SOUND GOOD,, while giving the proverbial “wink” to and playing to the Republican-lite anti-libertarians in the right hand. It is called “sleight of hand”. The “magic-man” W.A.R., is a trickster, pure and simple.
