Local Businessman and Native Nevadan announces candidacy for Congress
Insurance Agency owner Floyd Fitzgibbons announced today his plan to run for the 3rd Congressional District. The 51 year old native Nevadan’s entry into the contest will have an important bearing on the outcome of the election due to the large number of disenchanted Republicans and that 80,000 registered voters in the 3rd district are now either Independents, nonpartisan or belong to other minor parties.
Fitzgibbons is a former Co-Chair of Nevada Concerned Citizens and the Independent American Party Candidate for State Controller in 2006 where the number of votes he drew in his first run for political office likely cost Republican Steve Martin the race.

I hope those disenchanted people pay attention to the congressional race. They may find something better in Fitzgibbons that they won’t find with the others. Better than them not voting, I figure.
