If you believe Mike Bloomberg should run for president, then now is the time to tell him!

America needs and deserves a president with vision and a proven track record of solving tough problems and delivering real results, a president who can bring America together through true leadership and fine character.

With a recession looming, we believe that Mayor Bloomberg, a proven successful businessman and public servant, is that leader to help us rebuild our country.

Join the Draft Bloomberg Committee on the ground floor by completing two important activities that will help bring Mayor Bloomberg into the presidential race:

1. Sign the petition to draft Mike Bloomberg: Add your name to the list and stay informed about our draft movement. Sign online now! 2. Publish the petition on your blog: The more voices we have shouting Mike’s name, the more likely he will be to enter the race. Publish the petition on your blog!

About Us
The Draft Bloomberg Committee is a diverse group of Americans who believe that Mike Bloomberg is the best choice for president in 2008. Our reason for being is to gather America’s voice—through, the petition, and other efforts—to show Mayor Bloomberg convincing evidence that we, the people of the United States of America, want and need him to run for president.

I didn’t get the e-mail, which indicates that they probably didn’t use a Unity08 list for the mailing. That they would target a libertarian stalwart like Doug Craig (who is supporting Ron Paul, the last time I checked) may indicate that they don’t have good targeted lists.

In the meantime, Bloomberg challenged all of the presidential candidates in his crusade against “illegal guns.” Only Ron Paul responded, but Bloomberg didn’t like his answer, I suppose. Had I been asked, my only response probably would have been to recite the Second Amendment. From the NY Daily News:

Whatever the reason, Bloomberg got no takers on his call for the candidates to answer questions from his Mayors Against Illegal Guns group, even though he spent $22,203 on full-page ads in early-voting state newspapers - the Des Moines Register and the New Hampshire Union-Leader - to tout the survey.

The 16-question survey was released Dec. 9, and candidates were asked to respond by Jan. 2.

John Edwards had asked for an extension until Monday (that’s yesterday, not next week), according to Bloomberg spokesman Jason Post. But the day came and went, and still nothing has been received from the former senator, who is gunning for a win in his native South Carolina to keep his campaign alive.

Ron Paul was the only other candidate to offer his opinion. He submitted a prepared statement on the Second Amendment, which the mayors’ coalition does not consider a sufficient response, Post said.

“The more than 250 Republican, Democratic, and Independent mayors who make up the Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition are disappointed that none of the people who want to lead this country are paying attention to an issue that kills 12,000 Americans each year,” Post told DN City Hall Bureau Chief Kirsten Danis.

To add another third party twist to the Bloomberg update, Bob Barr has been involved in the suits against Michael Bloomberg for some time. A recent e-mailer told me that Barr deposed Bloomberg in Charleston NYC a few days ago.

I got the email, and the only way I figured I did was because of a Unity08 mailing list.

The man doesn’t have enough backbone to say he plans to run for Presiedent. How do you think he can handle being President? If he runs, he will have an effect not a victory. He is more of a behind doors wessel type leader.

I was wrong about the depositions taking place in Charleston. They took place in NYC. I have the articles from the Ny Times and NY Post. I will email them to you so you can write about them if you want. Thanks for mentioning them. Bloomberg cannot get the guns.

  8. Bob Roth Says:

The recent email from The DBC was not built from the membership list of Unity08. Although some of the staff made the change, the membership lists and contributions did not.

“In the meantime, Bloomberg challenged all of the presidential candidates in his crusade against ‘illegal guns.’”

“Illegal” guns??!? There is NO SUCH THING as an “illegal” gun. Bloomturd has obviously never heard of the 2nd amendment.

  10. George Phillies Says:

As a candidate who has been reasonably scrupulous about answering questionnaires, I can say that I didn’t receive one of these. Did any of my Democratic or Republican opponents get them?

  11. Jason Gatties Says:

I got the same email that was sent to Doug. I have never even visited the Unity 08 website, yet some how I ended up on a mailing list.
