Constitution Party Upset About Congressional Spending Bill
According to the Constitution Party, Americans can scratch a secure border off their collective Christmas list. They state that the “surreptitious” and “late night” passage of H.R.2764 “guts plans to build substantial barriers along the U.S.- Mexico border.”
“Congressional representatives defied constituents who have said time and again they want the illegal influx to stop. Increased crime, overburdened social service and educational systems, environmental and public health consequences are all the result of the illegal invasion that’s been allowed to continue unchecked,” stated Constitution Party National Committee Chairman Jim Clymer.
“The latest outrage should be one more indication why Americans are registering discontent with their elected officials,” stated Clymer. “This spending bill is another reason why Congress has historically low approval ratings, and why both political parties now controlling our government are seeing mass defections.”
“The recently-passed spending bill chopped the budget for reinforcing the border with fencing by more than half,” reads the release. “In addition to cutting close to $2 billion from the Secure Fence Act, Congress sliced and diced funds for 45,000 detention beds and hundreds of local law enforcement officers to handle criminal illegal aliens.”

I think the Constitution Party is the only party which wants to close the borders. Not just talk about it.

Quoth the Chairman:
The federal funding of local law enforcement strikes me as being rather unconstitutional, not to mention wasteful. Does the “brown peril” really trump the clear meaning of the constitution in the eyes of the CP national committee?

Yes GWBrown, the destruction of the American culture is at hand, and the new order of world constitutional socialism will reign led by Mike Huckabee, Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul and Cynthia McKinney.
Merry Christmas and Praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

You say that like it’s a good thing.

CP = Lincolnite mercantilists

I love how all pro-illegal immigration activists immediately resort to calling anti-illegal activists, racists. Im marrying a Cuban-American in 3 days and im against illegals (Hint: so is she)—so am I racist against the “browns”?
For the record though, you’re right about the Feds funding local law enforcement.

Well, I’m against all illegal immigration, no matter the race or nationality. I’m all for legal immigration though. The problem is some people link the word illegal to a race and I’m just against illegal immigration. This doesn’t make me a racist because I believe in immigration, just legal immigration.

I don’t want to imply that everyone who takes a certain stance on immigration does so for racist reasons. I know better, and regret that I didn’t clarify better.
That said, something has the leader of the CP spooked enough to complain about the removal of grossly unconstitutional appropriations from a spending bill.
Congrats, Trent! That’s awesome.

I believe in legal immigration also. And expanding quotas even.

Congradulations Trent!
I’d attend, but I’m all the way here on the Left Coast.
FYI, if we had a bunch of fair-haired, blue-eyed Swedes hopping the border, the CP and I would be just as pissed. Whoever is crossing the border illegally is THE problem.

So, make it legal.
