Some More Fundraising Numbers…

Phillies 2008 reports raising over $3,000 last Quarter and then the candidate himself cut checks totaling an additional $20,000 to bring the total raised for the Phillies campaign up to more than $50,000 with $10,000 remaining in cash on hand.

The Imperato reports are, as usual, practically impossible to figure out. However it does appear that the FEC called them on their previous claims of having raised and spent more than $250,000. The new totals suggest that Imperato has put closer to a total of $30,000 of his own money into the campaign… including $3,000 from the last quarter. They’re still using lump payments to a corporation to cover their expenses rather itemizing things out.

The FEC report for the Steve Kubby campaign hasn’t been uploaded to their site yet. As of the end of June the Kubby campaign had raised $6,215 and spent $6,092 of that. Leaving them with $149 in cash on hand. They’ve since released a fundraising video pitch to try and drum up some donations, although that came right at the very end of the quarter.

Similarly nothing from Christine Smith who had raised $7,506 and spent $7,284 at the end of the second quarter. She had $221 on hand.

As best I can tell there’s been nothing at all filed from Wayne Allyn Root’s campaign as of yet.

It looks to me like the hypothesis that Ron Paul’s campaign is eclipsing the REAL libertarians’ campaigns is verified here.

  2. Trent Hill Says:

    Milnes,

You’re hopeless. Of course Paul has eclipsed the “REAL libertarians’” campaigns, even Alan Keyes has tripled their numbers (with only a few days of a quarter).
No one has ever doubted that.

  3. Robert Milnes Says:

Trent, eclipsing is the wrong word. Perhaps USURPING would be a better word.

  4. Jackcjackson Says:

How much had Badnarik raised by Oct 2003?

  5. Trent Hill Says:

Please, with or without Ron Paul—the LP candidate would be pulling in the same paltry amounts.

  6. Robert Milnes Says:

Trent, not if the greens voted for the LP candidate.

  7. Trent Hill Says:

If the Greens vote for the LP candidate, they’ll both fetch 2%.

I’d like to offer a small correction to the information presented, if I may. I believe there is a typo in the first paragraph.

It should read that the Phillies campaign has raised close to $51,000. According to http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/dcdev/forms/C00428961/306355/ total contributions—not candidate contributions, but TOTAL contributions—are $50,825. It’s possible the “more than $41,000” came from the line above in the report.

    Thanks.

  9. Austin Cassidy Says:

That does seem to be the case. Thanks for pointing it out and the number was corrected.

  10. Robert Milnes Says:

& don’t forget the 2 decimal places that went to Ron Paul/gop instead of the real libertarian candidates.

  11. Scratch Says:

Austin, do not be assuaged by false gods. There is but one who can heal us. One who speaks of love, light and laughter.

    He is sense and sensuality.

    He is freedom and focaccia.

He is Daniel Imperato. A real man for a real America.

  12. Jim Jeffords Says:

I don’t know about focaccia, but Daniel Imperato is a real man for a real America.
