Your Party, Your Principles
A cross section of nationally known political and economic analysts will gather in Las Vegas during Independence week at Freedom Fest to consider a variety of issues including illegal immigration and the future of party politics.
The Constitution Party, the third largest party based on voter registrations, will be represented at the event; significant in light of recent poll data suggesting more Americans have ‘declared independence’ from their previous political affiliations and are contributing to growth in third parties.
A recent survey shows the number of Republicans has been falling for two years straight and now hovers around 30%.
The Rasmussen poll also found the number of people identifying themselves as Democrats has fallen to its lowest level in a year and a half and is gauged at about 37%. Some see this as evidence Americans have lost faith in both ‘Big Box’ parties.
As a result, the number of Americans not affiliated with either major party has jumped to an all-time high—almost 33%.
That means there are now more Independents than there are Republicans.
“For many years, both parties have abused their power because no serious challenges to their duopoly have emerged, until now,” commented New York Times best-selling author and Constitution Party member Jerome Corsi.
Corsi, co-author of the New York Times #1 Best-seller Unfit for Command- Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry will join a lineup of speakers including GOP presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), Wall Street Journal writer Stephen Moore, Whole Foods CEO John Mackey and other well-respected educators, economists and political analysts at Freedom Fest, July 5-7, at Bally’s/Paris Resort, Las Vegas.
Hard-hitting information from Corsi’s newly-released book- The Late, Great USA: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada will be included in a debate on immigration during the 3 day event. Corsi will detail why both major political parties have a vested interest in keeping our borders unsecured. Highly documented, the book exposes the efforts to submerge the United States into a regional government without a whimper from Congress or the American people.
Dr. Jerome Corsi’s appearances on CNN, C-Span and Fox News have generated intense debate on the real reason Washington is soft on illegal immigration. Corsi will discuss his research in depth at Freedom Fest on July 5th, 2007.

“Economic analysts”—they can actually find ones that say immigration is bad? Where did they go to school, the Mises Institute?

Thanks to Phillies 2008, there will be a Libertarian presence at the Freedom Festival, namely Phillies 2008 is an exhibitor. I will be there, my Campaign Treasurer Carol McMahon will be there, and folks from the LP of Nevada will be there.

Immigration is not necessarily good or bad. Some immigrants are a plus and some are a negative. It depends upon the person.

Andy - Sentences #2 and #3 are absolutely true. Sentence #1 is iffy. The effects of immigration can be measured in the aggregate, and they are good. Expanding the welfare state beyond its current level could change that. There is a tipping point at which every additional immigrant will be a net loss, instead of a net gain. But even at the bloated level of government now, we are not there yet. The welfare state should be reduced or eliminated, but we don’t need to erect walls in the meantime. Immigrants aren’t demanding more welfare, they’re demanding more freedom and opportunity.

Is this subjective propagandizing too non objective? Can the ‘average’ voter be over estimated or under estimated.

It is really hard to believe that the Constitution Party is so excited about someone whose claim to fame is a book smearing John Kerry. The message of “Unfit to Command” seems to be John Kerry was a coward; he should have done the honorable thing, and joined the National Guard like George W. Bush.
When the CP can get someone who is not a Bush Leaguer as their candidate, maybe we can take them more seriously.

Ron Paul and the CP, can you get much better?
“When the CP can get someone who is not a Bush Leaguer as their candidate, maybe we can take them more seriously.”
He’s not “ours.” Somebody in the National Veterans’ Coalition “drafted” him. He’s a complete neocon and doesn’t belong in the party. I would guess he is under the same illusion that the CP is just more to the right than the Republicans, but our philosophy is completely different.
For anyone interested, you can hear John Lofton’s interview with him here:

It takes him quite awhile to admit that murdering preborn children is in fact murder, and talks of “promoting democracy in Iran.” We don’t need someone just because they write for Ron Paul-bashing globalist rag “WorldNetDaily.”

If the CP’s philosophy is completely different from that of the Republicans, I hope they show it by tossing Corsi out on his ear.

=John Kerry was no better then Bush so he got it coming.
Plus Jerome’s attitude is changing, for such a Bush defender to join the Constitution Party and even want to run for President- that tells you he’s smarting up!
Soon that neocon will be a paleocon!
July 1st, 2007 at 11:43 pm
Being a neocon outside the Military-Industrial-Complex isn’t a profitable enterprise these days.
Corsi will go where the money is, which is why he wrote the Anti-Kerry book and why he is courting the paleo-conservative movement now. A movement isn’t mature until it can seperate the wheat from the chaff, and Corsi is Chaff with a capital C.
