Missouri Green Affiliate Qualifies for Ballot

From KMBC-TV...

Missourians will have a fourth choice this November when voting for senator, auditor and some other top offices.

The Progressive Party said that it has been approved by the secretary of state to field candidates in six races this fall. The party had to submit more than 10,000 petition signatures to make the ballot.

Party organizers said they are affiliated with the Green Party of the United States.

The Democrat, Republican and Libertarian parties all have automatic spots on the Missouri ballot based on the number of votes their candidates received in the last general election.

The Progressive Party candidate for U.S. Senate is Lydia Lewis of St. Louis. It’s auditor candidate is Terry Bunker of Kansas City.

I like how the MO party sheds to horrible “Green” name. “Green” connotates a one-issue party, and the international communist Green Party. Then again, the US party has completely abandoned its anarchist roots in favor of Marxism anyway, so it probably doesn’t mind the internationalist connotations.
