Today’s Candidate: Jill Stein


Today’s candidate of the day is Jill Stein for Massachusetts Secretary of State.

Stein was nominated as the Green-Rainbow Party’s candidate on March 12th. This will be her fourth campaign in the last five years.

In 2002 she was the party’s nominee for Governor and received 3.5% of the vote. Following that election, Stein sought a seat in the state house in 2004. She captured 21% of the vote and outpolled the Republican candidate to finish second in the 3-way race.

In March of 2005, Stein was elected to a seat on the Town Meeting Board in Lexington, MA. She placed first of 16 candidates for seven available seats.
