WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 8th, 2006

Today’s candidate of the day is Peter Hutchinson for governor of Minnesota.

Hutchinson is the Independence Party candidate and has a heck of a resume. He worked as a corporate executive with Dayton Hudson for 14 years, served as both Deputy Mayor and School Superintendent in Minneapolis, and is a former State Finance Commissioner. In addition he is a published author and government consultant.

No doubt the most deserving candidate of the day not only for third party watch, but for anyone thats watching politics and looking for a bright spot.

I got a chance to talk to him for a bit as well as listen to him speak at the MN IP convention this summer and was really impressed. He’s really sharp, but also has the presence to be taken seriously. The fact that he has such high credentials in both public and business life doesn’t hurt either. I’m actually excited about a candidate for governor for the first time in a long time.
