Several News Items…

Independent candidate for governor of Virginia Russ Potts will be allowed to debate… sort of. Republican Jerry Kilgore has been ducking State Senator Potts for weeks now, refusing to enter into a 3-way debate. Now, Kilgore says that Potts can participate in a debate on October 9th, if he can reach 15% in at least two public opinion polls.

It turns out that Tom Sevigny was actually elected to the Green Party Steering Committee after all. It appears there were some issues with the vote counting software being used at the Tulsa national meeting. It’s unclear if he still wants the position or not.

The Libertarian Party, adjusting to the end of the old membership and dues system, has replaced the membership drive graphic on the party website with an ad for their Liberty Pledge program.

    Several Greens that have looked at the vote counting believe that this is not the case. After this re-tabulation of the votes, Greens have looked at the numbers and have found problems in how the election was counted. In fact several Greens have tabulated the votes and their result is that Kristen Olson won the fourth seat.
