Peroutka for President: The Movie

It appears that the Peroutka 2004 Presidential campaign has produced a documentary called For God, Family, & The Republic: Inside the Peroutka 2004 Presidential Campaign.

I downloaded the 15 Megabyte trailer, and it looks somewhat interesting. I saw some scenes from various campaign events and what looked like the Constitution Party convention. However, it’s not possible to tell if this is a documentary or a campaign commercial. Still, I suspect I will wind up purchasing a copy just to find out. (Maybe some day this blog will be noteworthy enough for people to send me free stuff to review… that would be nice.)

It would also be really nice if someone went out and did a real, independently produced documentary (like “The War Room”) about a modern third party campaign. Until that happens, there’s God, Family & the Republic.

I own a copy of the Peroutka DVD you mentioned. It is a very well made documentary that covers his 2004 campaign. The DVD also includes some good speeches by Mr. Peroutka, as well as all of his TV and radio commercials.

    Excellent, I believe I’ll order a copy shortly. :)

A Constitution Party activist mailed me a 2004 Peroutka campaign DVD, which is very informative as it explains Peroutka’s case for running and the major issues about which he ran.

Even though the Campaign DVD is an infomercial, it is worth a review for historical purposes.

The Peroutka documentary DVD sounds as if it’s very good. I have not had a chance to see it yet.

By the way, I’d like to let everyone know about a “Multi-Party Political Debate” that is (or at least it was) available on DVD. Representatives from six different political parties participated in the debate. Four of those participants were third party presidential nominees in 2004. Speaking of debates, the debate at Cornell on October 6 can be downloaded here. Peroutka and Badnarik were excellent, and all participants were very informative:
