Libertarians Elect Eight in Oregon

The Libertarians have managed to elect eight new officeholders in Oregon. They captured seats on six School Committees, a Water Board, and a School Board. How’d they do it?

“The real credit goes to the county parties,” Mayer said. “The leaders in Washington and Clackamas counties decided to focus on winnable races, including several that were uncontested. And it worked.”

Focusing on winnable races… what a radical approach! Who’d have thought that could work?

With these victories, the Oregon LP now claims roughly 30 elected officeholders and has seen Libertarian registration in the state essentially double in the last 10 years from 8,000 to 16,000.
